Eight Ways to Upgrade Your New Years Resolutions

I really liked this post.  Worth sharing because it touches on some important things like starting to focus on toning your muscles and becoming stronger.  Set a goal that you will enjoy rather than telling yourself to lose weight.  Doing activities like yoga, pilates, biking, lifting free weights, aerobics, spinning,… something you will enjoy! Even if your new hobby is cooking, you can make it a goal to eat whole, fresh foods! You will naturally see healthy and happy changes. : )

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I cook dinner and then on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and one weekend night we’ll eat left overs (one night a week I usually see my parents at home for dinner).  For dinner tonight I made a tomato, basil, and mozzarella panini.  All of the ingredients were organic.  This was so simple.  I buttered the bread with vegan butter, sprinkled basil on it, then set it in the pan.  On that I put the mozzarella, spinach, tomato, and topped it with the other piece of bread.  This was finished in 5 minutes. Preparing took another 5 minutes.  This fresh meal was a TOTAL of 10 minutes.  It’s the perfect amount of flavor and crunch.  If you’re looking to add a side, we used carrots and garlic hummus.  :) Try it and let me know what you think!

Dorm food vs. Fresh Meals

I know how it feels to be worrying about homework, meetings, floor socials, sports, clubs and organizations, and everything beyond that that keeps us busy.  One of my goals with this blog is to show everyone that it is possible to be fit and eat healthily amongst all of those other things!  If you want it, you prioritize it.

I’ve been working on quick, fun, and easy meals that I’d like to share with you.  A lot of the time I try to work with vegan options and plant based meals, but on some occasions I’ll incorporate the organic version of something other than vegan products.

Everyone always says that it must be so expensive to do something like this.  Although I encourage buying organic, I will say that if that’s not an option, you’re still doing yourself a favor by buying fresh products over boxed products.  Just think, you’re saving money in the long run when it comes to your health. ; )  You’re also “voting” for better food when you go through the checkout line.  Maybe, in an ideal situation, this healthy food will be comparably priced to this unhealthy food so that all people have an equal chance at taking care of themselves. : )

P.I.N.K Method

Hi Ladies!

You know me.  I love workouts that are guided, especially new ones (I’m always looking for change). I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but there is a new method going around that seems to be pretty catchy.  It’s called the P.I.N.K Method.  When I first heard this I was hesitant to try it.  It’s a workout and nutrition plan based on women’s needs.  Usually I don’t like anything based on giddy workouts for women or so called “methods” or “diets” because I believe being healthy is a lifestyle, not some attempt here and there.  My mom bought this so I told her I would try it.  I’m glad to say this isn’t easy or boring, and I know for a fact that if you commit to this you will see results. Results that leave you healthy and happy-that’s what it’s all about.  I did the workout and felt all of my muscles working- great! Of course results depend upon your diet as well.  The method recommends eating whole foods…which is common sense, so great again! I highly recommend it to you. : )

I have a copy I’m bringing to school.  Every morning at 7 a.m. I’ll be in the lounge if any of you want to join me.  Fun!  I love sharing health with all of you and hope you take advantage of this!

See you Monday. ;  )

About:

Hello Everyone!

I am a student passionate about all things nutrition and fitness related. I’m an exercise-a-holic and nutrition nut, and it only seems appropriate that I share my love for it with all of you here on this blog. I’ll be using the blog as a place to share tips, tricks, recipes, workouts, progress pictures, and maybe even a food log.

My belief is that living a healthy lifestyle is the best possible thing we can do for ourselves (and even those around us). Eating properly and exercising regularly helps our bodies be in their most natural form. That is why we need to eat nutritious foods that provide our bodies with what they need to function, grow, and manage themselves. If we manage to eat appropriately and add fitness to our routine, our bodies will naturally improve in areas such as our digestion, immune system, weight loss and management, skin care, and also on an emotional level. Go ahead, do your self a favor. : )
